Miss Molly

Oh, happy Sunday! Last night Drew and I went to go see Murder By Death at The Abbey. Like always, they put on a great show! Drew bought a beautiful silk screen print promoting the band – I will post more on that later this week! Until then, meet Miss Molly:

This is for an art show I have in May. I also put a print in my shop.

Wow, Evan B. Harris fan, much? Shame shame we know your name.

Wow, some people’s artistic sensibilities are on the short side of being retarted. Cindy’s work in no way resembles Mr. Harris’ work, and I’m pretty positive she’s never even heard of him. I guess some folks just have too much time on their hands and prefer to scour the web while talking shit, anonymously no less. Let’s all just be productive and contribute to society in a helpful, not degenerate way. No one seems to be up in arms over the fact that there are tons of Audrey Kawasaki copycats. That seems ok I guess. Easier to pick on lesser known artists.

I find it interesting that this unaccountable person found it necessary to comment. After looking at Evan’s work, we don’t even approach the way we draw figures the same. I am sure that if I had decided, over a year ago, to create this piece in acrylic on board with my usual bright colors, instead of Kraft paper, he or she would not have thought twice. Oh, well!

“shame shame we know your name.” I think I heard that in a Barney song once…so be careful where you steal your clever little rhymes. I know Cindy well enough to have seen her style develop without any help from some Evan Harris, but I’m sure she appreciated your helpful critique. How’s the job at Hobby Lobby going?
