5X7 portraits – pencil on brown paper wrapping cover stock paper with gouache.
I tend to get tired of surfaces, so I took a break from paints and did five of these drawings. Plus I want to mix it up for the show I am doing in February. I kind of want the little jacket the deer is wearing in a mustard yellow or navy blue. (oh, if only possible…)
So, after 2 weekends of testing things out with silk-screening I think I came up with the right exposure time and distance the light is from the screen. That may be half of the battle – who knows how the actual printing will go. It’s so much easier to do this in a studio, but I am determined to get comfortable with screen printing at home.
