Entries from November 2007
This past month I had paintings, collages, and the Blue Grass Birds gocco print hanging in The Grind Cafe in beautiful Lincoln Square. A special thanks to the super nice and creative Jamie and Todd for helping display the art and managing the art for the month of November. It’s nice meeting creative souls outside of art school - especially when they live in your neighborhood.

I love exposed brick. LOVE it.
Just finished my cards for the upcoming holidays. Despite working 3 jobs, it feels so good making the time to work on my personal projects, even it that means pulling late, late nights and early mornings.

A messy studio is a happy studio:

Decided to get down and dirty tonight and make some holiday gocco prints. Despite a rough start, stepping in ink, and getting a bit sleepy, I made it through the night in true college style- frozen pizza, beer (pumpkin beer to be exact), late night, messy studio, and a result. Not too happy about the translucent white against the green. In normal silk screening it would have been more opaque, not I am not quite used to the consistency of the gocco inks or the gocco itself- these will have to do. There will be a second color of gold added to the top, but I will have to think about it. I may try to see if I can add a little more - punch, pop, and pull to it.

…with that, goodnight. It’s been a late one and the morning alarm will go off in a few hours!

Preparing for DEPART-ment next weekend! Florida was a wonderful break from reality. Drew and I had a great time.

Happy Thanksgiving - peace and safe travels to all!

Lately, my doodles in my sketchbook have been very gestural and a little sloppy. Probably because I usually find the time to sketch on the buses or the trains - not the smoothest ride.
Well, time to pack for the road trip! Au revoir!

I’ve been busy as of late. Last night I hung 18 pieces at The Grind Cafe in Lincoln Square. The show will be up until December 1st, so swing by grab a coffee or a tea and stay a while.

In a week Drew and I will be hitting the open road on a trip to St. Pete, Florida. Looking forward to a much needed escape from the city.
