It’s the perfect day today and looking forward to jumping on the bus soon for a little adventure out to the West side.

Here’s a photo of my lovely friend Joana and I manning the both at the Rockwell Crossing Art Walk a few weekends ago. Thanks to everyone who came out and brought prints/cards and art.

I really need to get to some painting this weekend. It’s been a hectic week.

Thirst

Drew and I have so many plants they crowd the windows. Every time I go to Home Depot, I can’t help but want to take one home.

With that said, I think it’s time I clean up my monumental mess of clippings from the floor.

The past day I’ve decided to break away from the computer and even paint to mess with some paper I retrieved this past week. Here’s what I came up with.

Waiting

I love European Folk art with paper cut outs and Chinese paper art. There’s the perfect sense of negative and positive space along with a lot of painstaking detail and at the same time -simplicity.

Andrew was amazing through the whole ordeal and I thank him for his web coding and help with the design direction. This could have never happened if it wasn’t for him.

Detail

When I was little my dad took a trip to Poland. Upon his return he brought back a suitcase of souvenirs for us kids. It felt like he was gone forever. To us, crossing the Atlantic was like going on an expedition back into history - something like a time machine and his quest was long and perilous. We were showered with goodies and stories. I had never seen him so happy. My favorite gift was my Nesting Doll. (See photo below.)

Also in photo, an old photo of my youngest brother with our bunny at the time, Snuffles (circa early 1990s), and a hand painted egg from Poland.
